ISBA and ISC Response to Labour Party Vote

Noting the position the Labour Party have taken on private education the ISC have responded robustly (please see their response below).  ISBA will be taking professional advice now that the specific details of and some timescales for the Labour threat have become clearer, and will advise member schools further in due course.

Julie Robinson, chief executive of the Independent Schools Council, said: "Parents across the country have every right to be worried about the decision by Labour Party conference to support a motion to abolish independent schools. The move is an attack on the rights and freedoms of parents to make choices over the education of their children.

ISBA Publishes Revised Anti-Money Laundering Guidance

ISBA has published revised anti-money laundering guidance for independent schools.  The information, which includes a template anti-money laundering policy, has been reviewed by legal firm Farrer & Co, and is available for download here (latest version August 2019).

"So you want to be a bursar?" - June 2019 - Booking open

ISBA has announced that online booking is now available for the association's popular 'So You Want to be a Bursar?' course.  Taking place on Tuesday 25 June 2019 at The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Basingstoke, this event is for individuals looking to become bursars who are not currently working in support roles in independent schools.
