The Opportunity

Ashfold is a leading independent prep school for approximately 260 boys and girls aged 3-13 years. The School is set in 30 acres of beautiful grounds on the edge of the village of Dorton in the Buckinghamshire countryside, close to Thame. The School is a charitable trust managed by a board of Governors.

We are seeking to appoint a Gap Student on a one year fixed term contract starting on 1 September 2021 to 31 August 2022. The successful candidate will assist the Head of Boarding and teaching staff supervise children and associated activities in and around the School.

Working with the boarding team, the successful candidates will help create a warm and welcoming environment for our older pupils who choose to board with us. Demonstrating their prowess on the Xbox, participating in the table football league, chatting over pizza and a DVD or simply making toast and muffins for pre-bedtime snacks, they will have a genuine understanding of the life of a boarder. The day-time curriculum will then enable the candidates to demonstrate their other natural skills and talents whether this be in the classroom or on the sports field, supporting teachers to deliver an exciting curriculum that engages the pupils and encourages them to aim high. Although not exclusive, these opportunities are ideally suited to those who although may be deferring higher education, are considering a future career in education and/or sport.
