Launch of ISBA's new health & safety online
The ISBA has joined forces once again with the training
provider Educare to offer staff members of its member schools a
comprehensive online introduction to health and safety legislation.
The new e-learning training programme is free to ISBA members
and places are initially available for up to three senior support
staff from each member school. The programme has been specifically
designed for staff with H&S responsibilities who are at the
beginning of their career at the school. It is fully
accredited by ROSPA, a leading expert in the prevention of
accidents and meets the Institution of Occupational Safety and
Health (IOSH) 'Working Safely' Standards.
Working through the programme's four short and easy-to-complete
modules participants will:
- gain a greater understanding of the legislative and regulatory
H&S framework for schools;
- learn about assessing and managing risk;
- explore strategies to deal with accidents and emergencies -
before, during and in the aftermath; and
- understand how to comply with the law and regulations.
The programme counts for four continuous professional
development (CPD) hours as well as offering additional resources
for further learning.

The e-learning programme is supported by a comprehensive ISBA
H&S Guide which is available in the ISBA reference library at:
