École Jeannine Manuel, in the heart of Bloomsbury, London, is now recruiting a Lab Technician to start in August 2018

We are a 3-18 co-educational independent bilingual French international day school with both French and IB Diploma Programme tracks in Sixth Form. Our Paris sister school and namesake has been ranked first in France for the last five years.

With the opening of its new Upper School (Lycée) approaching, École Jeannine Manuel in London is looking to appoint an efficient, flexible and proactive individual to fill the role of Lab Technician and Administrative Assistant at its Russell Square site.   

Duties will include maintenance and stocktaking of laboratory equipment, preparation of experiments for classes, including measuring of chemicals, slide preparation, and laying out of equipment.

The successful candidate may also be expected to assist in the classroom where classroom demonstrations are required, therefore a passion for the sciences, and for working with young people, is a requirement.

As this is will be a newly opened site, a strong sense of initiative and willingness to take on a variety of ad-hoc administrative tasks is necessary to help the smooth running of the Upper School. Therefore, excellent organisational skills are required, as well as experience with basic administrative tasks. At times, you may also be expected to assist in supervising pupils from Years 10 to 12 during the school day. 

Please note the following requirements prior to applying for this position:

  • Good spoken and written English; 
  • University degree or equivalent qualification in one of the scientific fields;
  • Professional laboratory experience and experience working in schools is preferred

Start Date: Mid-August 2018 (latest)

Full Time: 40 hours a week – Term time only.
