Job description

The Old Vicarage School is a thriving independent day school for 200 girls aged between 4 and 11 years. The school is situated in a quiet, residential area of Richmond, and occupies a beautiful Grade 2* listed ‘castle’ on Richmond Hill.  Whilst retaining traditional values, there is a clear vision for the future; teaching and facilities combine the very best of the old and the new.

The Governors and the Head are now seeking to appoint an individual with a strong financial and commercial background to join the Senior Management Team as the next Bursar.  This is a key role in this highly regarded independent school with responsibility for the financial, operational and business administration of the school.

The successful applicant will have a proven ability to manage a diverse range of school support services, including building and facilities management, health and safety, human resources and legal and compliance obligations. The candidate will have strong leadership, management and communication skills and will need to be enthusiastic and self-motivated. Previous experience as a school bursar would be of benefit but not essential.

The post is available from October 2017, but the actual start date is flexible for the successful candidate.
